If you’ve called LSS in the last few days to apply for legal aid, you might have noticed that you were on hold for a while. On April 27 we launched a new computer system to improve our intake process. This new system will improve how we process legal aid applications, allow us to streamline the management of legal aid cases, and upgrade the data we collect so that we can make better decisions.
Over the past several weeks our intake staff has been training to learn the new system. When you take any new system into the real world, there are bound to be some speed bumps.
The wait times now to talk to our intake staff is 20 minutes, but that’s becoming shorter every day. Please bear with us as we get better at using the new system and our wait times will be back to where they were.
